Humanitarian Mission to Congo

Postby Alphajet_Enthusiast » Sun Sep 04, 2005 2:06 am

Yesterday played multiplayer all evening.
We flew a humanitarian supply mission from the UN base in Entebbe, Uganda to the warstruck Bunia in Congo.

I was the navigating aircraft on the flight, the other aircraft flown by Iceman was the wingman.  ;D

The flight took us
-outbound Entebbe VOR on a track of 305 degrees for 80 Nm

-inbound Bunia VOR on a track of 125 degrees

-left holding pattern using the Bunia NDB

-inbound Bunia VOR  on a track of 280 degrees inbound Runway 28

You should try this flight with a friend, it is really fun. The only thing to watch out for is that BUN (Bunia) VOR does not have distance measuring equipment, I repeat: it does not have distance measuring equipment!

Here are the shots!  ;D

I landed first, despite being first in line Iceman had to go around due to alignment issues

Both on the ground now, releasing the freight. I took the freight version of the PMDG 1900C, Iceman flew the cargo version. Note that the engines are not switched off. In a war zone like Bunia we need to be prepared to leave quickly.

Hope you liked it, im sorry about the quality however monday im getting that new video card so hopefully soon it will be more appealing.  :)

Nice flying. The UN Paint would've done nicely. Sorry, just a matter of personal opinion; I hate all unreal paints.

EDIT: WTF? Am I dreaming? Did my UN paint just dissappear? Is there a UN paint for this? I thought there was some UN paint?

Alphajet_Enthusiast:

Good, I'm not crazy. The UN paint exists, but its for the 1900D, not the excellent 1900C Freight model (which I would prefer to have a UN paint over the passenger 1900D).
