You can close the cockpit door

i had the door open so you could see the upper level virtual cabin (only part of the cabin rendered) and initially I was distraught that there was no wingview, HOWEVER this is one of them birds I will be hard pressed to leave the cockpit in. it looks MAZING plus there are a bunch of little addon eyecandy in it. you woulbe be surprised when moving your mouse around it, how much you can move or click.

As for the shades, yes they all move. Also has wipers,  and the cockpit night lighting looks fantastic!!!

I printed all 386 pages of the manual today so Im going to be reading for a few days and playing around with it. BUT I have read a few complaints about the plane regarding various things on various forums, and I have to say those that complained obviously didnt read the manual. Sure Im sure there are som bugs...something this detailed there has to be, and knowiong PMDG they will work them out. This is in my opinion, as someone who has never flown a plane as a pilot, and for a hobbyist that wants an immersion level, is a must have. Even at its price.

Granted Im sure the "real pilots" out there are expecting a 200 million dollar jet for $55 but *shrug* cant please everyone lol, though SaVas is vwery impressed

Wish it had more opening doors...

That's incredible! Nice one.
Y'know, to get started flying the 747, you don't necessarily have to read the entire manual. I found Werner Schott's little quick-start guide very useful for just learning to handle that beastie... I think I got it here at SimV.

I think Im going to be spending a lot of time finally really learning these damned FMCs (I hate FMCs take too long to program lol and was pretty good at the 737NG's but havent flown it in a while) but in the mean time I can get the bird in the air and here are a couple more shots

So far, I have only carried my knowledge of the 737NG and managed to fly this beast from one city to another (SFO-LAX) with a nice safe landing on the first flight.  When I have time, I will learn the 747.  As far as how she handles, just like the real thing (from what I hear from pilots) this thing takes to the skies with such ease and handles wonderfully.  Very easy to control.  It's a common misconception that a plane as big as the 747 must be a pain to control by hand especially on landing.  Not true!  It handles better than a Cessna 172!   :P

Wow isnt she amazing? Might want to close that cockpit door though, you never know - in this post 9/11 day - who might wander into the cockpit!

You know my problem is I would never fly this for longer than 15 mins max, is it worth it purely for screenshot material? Hmmmmm.......

Great shots  :)
