Diamond coincidence

Postby Alphajet_Enthusiast » Wed Jun 15, 2005 7:33 am

These are some shots of the Diamond DA-20 Katana. I happily found it to be very similar to the Urbanair Lambada, the plane in which I learn to fly in real life :)... very similar both in handling characteristics and in looks. Enjoy.

Here is the comparison of the Diamond Katana and the Urbanair Lambada, which I fly. Look how similar... when I went for my first flight in the Lambada I saw it fly  overhead and thought it was a Katana...  ::)

Quite..
I love that Lambada..
Does it fly faster than the Katana?
I bet it glides further..  ;D

Speed is about the same, hardly any differrence. Indeed, the Lambada glides with the best of them. About 30% of all the time in the air with my instructor we rely solely on rising air to keep it afloat..  ;D

So, how about those no flap landings over 50 ft. obsticles in the Katana in real life? Takes a bit to get 'er down eh? Just doesn't want to land, doesn't want to slow down. Nuttin'!
