Versailles

Postby ramsa329 » Sat Feb 19, 2005 8:33 pm

The plane is an early WWI Caudron which is shareware from Sim-outhouse,

The scenery is from France-VFR.

Very nice in my opinion.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

These shots are taken from 500-1500 ft on an average. In some instances I may have gone as high as 3500.

Here is a link to France VFR. http://www.francevfr.com/

When I first got their scenery it was problematic.

Then they released a series of patches which really improved the situation.

So now if you get it it will be very smooth.

Scenery does not in general affect FPS as much as it can cause momentary pauses even in high FPS.

Many users interpret this as a frame rate problem when in fact it is a texture layering problem.

Often it 's necessary to make adjustments in increments of 60 to texture_bandwidth_mult in fs9.cfg.

Also remember that scenery load times are directly linked to pan rates.

But in the end poorly designed scenery can cause pauses which are really bad.
