A310 flight from EGKK to ESGG

Postby Nexus » Tue Feb 15, 2005 6:44 pm

The SSW A310 had been resting long enough in my hangar, and with the release of TAP's new livery for the A310, I couldn't resist to take it out for a spin, first between LPPT (Lisbon) to EGKK (London Gatwick) followed by a hop between London and ESGG (Gothenburg, Sweden). I have pics from both flights, but I'll show some shots of the latter.

Standing at EGKK in the morning, passengers will soon be boarding  :)

Taxiing onto runway 26L, we are cleared for take-off

Cruising at FL350, speed is M.82,but the winds are very rough today

As shown here. It's not everyday you have a nice 130kt head wind  ::)

Approaching Sweden's airspace, as Denmark is left behind

Approach to runway 03, dig the landing view  ;D

Touchdown, while my Simulator apparantly got rid of the haze and fog, now it's clear skies (Because of instant replay  :) )

I really like TAP's new livery, if only SSW could update their visual model and apply dynamic shine, that - and getting rid of the FMC bugs would be terrific  :)
Also downloaded a bew soundset from AVSIM, which sounded very good!

Thanks tomh!
Well that's a tough question.
Best funcionality isn't always the best looking.

But I'd say feelThere's ERJ145 and SSW A310 are the front runners for night lightning.
PMDG's panels are very crisp, but have no clickspots, which I am a fan of. To get acess to sub-panels you need to use the buttons on the lower left or use Shift+ 3 etc

PSS's panels are very good when it comes to clickspots, aswell as the ability to close the MCDU by just clicking on the display.

It's small things like that I really appreciate. I've never been a fan of Virtual Cockpits either. Mostly because the update rate of gauges must be rather slow or else the FPS will drop like a rock. Secondly, it's harder to instrument scan, despite me having a hat switch.  ;D
