A scene from decades gone by...

...an Ansett-ANA Lockheed Electra departs from Hobart for a night flight to Melbourne-Essendon.

Was playing around a bit with various adjustment layer options in PS as part of my University course and this resulted during my flight. It's hard to make night shots not too dark so I did tinker with the vibrance a little (though in sim I was using EMB anyway which did most of the lighting for me).

Thanks. I've really started to love flying this bird around. Sure her climb rate isn't great but she's got the looks, the sound and the personality that your 'Boring' or 'Bus' lack.

Hi raptorva... :)

Just a quick note on your Locheed Electra... :)

Before I switched over to the DC4s and 6s I was Captain and chief cook and bottle washer on the DC3 or Canso in the summer months.

I remember another Canadian Company flying into where we were.

The day was nice and bright with an outside temperature of around minus twenty (20) Celsius without the wind chill.

We were all working to unload our DC3 (captain, copilot and steward) everyone worked together and no stewardess in those days either... ;D

Long winter underwear, heavy winter parka, lined winter jeans well you get the picture.

Heh, I can't imagine how that must have felt. To go from the cold interior of a DC-3 to the insulated and heated cabin of an Electra.

Sadly my experiences are limited to modern jets. I've never flown on anything older than Qantas 747-400s and Turkish Airlines A340-300s.

Thanks all. I'm still using this image as one of the wallpaper rotation images on this desktop (along with the Ansett A320 one in the payware thread and one un-posted screen)
