Just a quick edit I threw together... You guys just wait and see for what I have for the screenie contest! Playing around with Softglow and Contrast gives you pretty decent results. Here we go, C&C welcome!

It looks like the photo of a model ship and plane...I think they call it forced perspective. Very nice  8-)

This shot has the potential to be fantastic but it it spoiled by the blur not being applied properly, the aircraft needs to be pin sharp and the blur on the deck of the ship more subtle.

A little less contast would help... when using contrast adjust the brightness to compensate for some of the unwanted effects such as the water being extremely dark.

I don't know what your setup is, but there are a lot of jaggies which spoil the shot they can be lessened with some editing tricks but only if they are small in the first place.
