The white streaks are my my attempt to show motion and speed.
I could have edited exhaust smoke but decided to try and experiment all the effects that Paint.NET provide. There is actually an effect edit that is called blur and motion. Remember the comic book artwork of speeding cars and planes with white streaks?

Another neat edit tool is under Artistic, using Ink Sketch
