In July 1938 the Piper J-3 entered production. It would continue to be produced until 1947, by which time over 19,000 of these trainer aircraft had been built.

Very nice edit, and I like the history lesson as well. I had no idea it had been around that long.  :o 8-)

I like the idea and this is really well done. I think a sepia tone would look just as good. 8-)
