Thanks Johnny, so you liked the 'oh-so-unusual' sunset pic but otherwise you just want to slag off my work and the one hour I put into these? I don't 'do' composites, I enjoy 'enhancing' what I get from FS. According to site rules, if I do this the shots must go into the edited forum, so here they are. You find looking at five completely different planes, locations and seasons, times of day boring? I guess any pic of a plane is boring really, isn't it. Just a plane, and a background. So why are you on this site? Well, just don't bother looking at my pics in this forum because that's all you're going to get. 'Enhanced screenshots'.

How's this - if you don't have anything positive to say, just don't bother to say it. And if you still have a crappy and abusive attitude like this after being banned at least once, why are you still coming in here. It's not welcome... why don't you leave us in peace and go join one of the many sites where kids compete at abusing and pwning each other, eh?

Well Krigil you are already selling yorself short "Skill-free filter slapping..." so I wouldn't be to alarmed to get some sort of harsh comment from someone....

Anyways I like em, many times you see people change the whole pic or do some extreme things. They can be cool but nothing brings out the life and crispness of a shot by some subtle enhancements in contrast and color.  8-)

That's more like it - complement or two and a bit of contructive criticism...

I think the 2nd one could use some more work but it's still good.

What could I do to make it look a bit better/realer? Any tips welcome!

Cheers

What does TBF mean?

'To be frank'

Speaking as another person who takes screenshots regularly, doesn't do composites but every now and again enjoys filter editing, I have to say that despite their simplicity, the visual appeal of these shots is easy to see. I really like them!! :D

its called critisiscm, my opinion, you voiced yours its what forums are all about, and im sticking by it, if you think what i put was blunt, then maybe you should read around the edited board a bit more.

if these shots where unedited i would probably have a differant opinion of them, but because they are in the edited board, im looking for a more interesting edit to of been done.

just because someone has said they dont like something doesnt mean they are a little kid, surely it means they are old enough to form an oppinion.

This is a friendly forum. Supposed to be. It takes work to make edits, and people post their work because they like it. Calling something boring that someone else is proud of is unacceptable. If you're telling me that my work's crap, then chances are you're telling other people too. That's the point. I understand and expect not everyone likes my stuff. I don't like everything I see here either. I just don't comment, or sometimes I try to help if something comes to mind. Even newborn babies express their opinion, quite forcefully very often. The trick is to know when not to express it...

You've already demonstrated (in the 'Madelaine Mc Cann' post a few months back and subsequent pms that got you banned last time) that you are unable to understand or care when something is unacceptable and may upset others, even the moderators when they are threatening to throw you out. You seem keen to see what you can get away with. It's this, not your age, that makes you seem like an 'annoying kid'.

At SimV we have teens who can take amazing photos, who know more about planes, engineering than I ever will (not hard), teens who even fly planes. They are most welcome here. People who specialise in spreading negativity of whatever age are not. I give my time to this site and post here for enjoyment, not to be told my stuff's crap... I can see it's not up to the highest standard myself thanks... hence the title

Some fine pictures there my friend. A few small issues that are only my personal taste.

#1 The composition is a lttle hard to work out. The aircraft and brackdrop are good choices. The lighting is ok, but could have been defined a little better. bit of dodge and burn work.

#2 Maybe could have scaled the a/c to get the right wingtip in. This would still have allowed the reef to act as a frame

#3 lovely composition and clarity, lovely lighting.  - lovely picture

#4 Love it

#5 cool picture

Thanks JNC!

I can't do anything about the second one as it's an old pic, but I'll try and avoid cutting off the wingtip in future - if cutting something off, do it properly, as the executioner said... :) I just couldn't for the life of me get the plane to stand out more from the background in the first, but liked it enough to post anyway... there's always the next time!!
