I respect that but he hasn't done anything wrong, and he already regretted saying it if it offended you. What left is there to be done?

Just asking for a simple clarification by staff for the record. Does he have the authority to disinvite people from this forum? Is it appropriate and withing the rules to do that? Does he in fact have any authority at all? I want to be clear where we stand.

Thank you.

I'm no moderator but I can give you my unbiased opinion as a senior member of this forum. I think you misunderstood his comments. He was expressing a personal opinion. That's what this forum is all about.

As I said before, please don't take yourselves so seriously. Thanks.

PS. I've seen more disagreements like this in the screenshots sections than anywhere else on this entire forum.

It was not an official 'go away' - I wish to make myself clear here. I do not pretend to have power over new members. I do not believe I can officially tell you that you are not welcome here - besides, that is not the case. New members are always a good thing - and I apologise for anything I said that may have upset, confused, offended or angered anyone. Can we call this argument over now - I said things I shouldn't have. Let's leave it to rest there. :)

Excuse me once again, sir, but I have asked for the moderator's opinion.

I have asked very clearly and explicity for specific answers to specific questions to clarify things going into the future. Thus far I have not gotten them.

I don't think that it is too difficult or asking too much for clarification from a mod. Does he have the authority to disinvite people from this forum? Is that considered acceptable practice at this site? Does he in fact have any authority at all? That is what I have specifially asked the mod. Why does there seem to be such reluctance to providing simple answers to simple questions so that members clearly understand where they stand and where other members stand.

It's an edit by an editor not art by an artist. Who made the plane? Aviation artists make everything from scratch. I think that after all of the work that real artists put into their art that they deserve to be called artists and editors should be called editors. It takes much more skill to be an artist than to be an editor. You shouldn't put down real artists by claiming that they are nothing more than editors on steroids. You shouldn't build up editors by claiming they are artsits either. Not fair to the artists.

So if I go out, take the photo myself, take the screenshot myself, and make a composite out of it, I can be classed as an artist?

The word 'edit' as a noun seems to have been coined around these parts... and as such, the term 'editor', in this context, is also just made up, in your case, to put down the person creating the images.

Although I may agree that slapping a filter on a screenshot cannot exactly be classed as 'art', there is certainly a great deal of skill in producing a convincing, realistic image, either through the means of a composite image, or simply editing a raw screenshot. I'm not sure who you think you are to say otherwise...

He does not have and authority over you or any members. It is not an acceptable practice on this site. This is what I don't get though, why is this still an issue if all of these questions have already been answered by the members here, and he already apologized for offending you? Honestly I'm no mod, but I can tell you that this problem should have been resolved by now.

The answer to that is quite simple & it doesn't take a moderator to answer it. spitfire boy is an ordinary member of this forum & as such has no authority at all, just like me & every other ordinary member.

New members are always welcome here but the way you're going on the word Troll springs to mind. ::)
Now please leave it there.

May I point out that it is not within any members authority to demand the attention of a moderator.

Let me clarify some of the points you bring up...

1. I do not have the power to disinvite people from the site - mods ban people if they think they are harming the forums. What I was saying is that maybe SimV isn't a place you'll enjoy being, considering the views you expressed. There is a distinct difference.
2. Whether it is considerable pracice to ask people to leave if you are not a moderator is a no-brainer - of course not. But that is not what I was doing
3. I have no absolute authority - however we all take advice from each other - advice as opposed to orders.

This applies to all non-admin members. We are a community and advice given in a community is normally accepted and taken in - however it has no authority - if it is your wish to go against the advice of others, you are, of course, free to - as long as the rules are abided by.

This post is not trying to take the place of a post by a moderator or admin - merely trying to help. :)

Excuse me yet once again, sirs.

I have asked for assistance from a mod by way of please clarifying some things for me. The mod showed up. He knows that I am asking for assistance. I have been very clear about the kind of assistance for which I am asking. I am asking for clarification by way of the answers to a few simple and direct questions.

I am not getting any assistance or clarification at all from the mod. He breezed in and breezed out before I could even explain to him what assistance I needed. No he seems to be completely gone. What does it take to get the help of a mod here? Is there any administration at this site?

Quite simply...yes.

The mods are exceptionally busy people...think about it... they have to police every single forum, every single thread on this site, along with organising competitions and events.

We all respect the mods for the great job they do. However, they are human just like the rest of us, and it cannot be expected of them to solve every problem and dispute 'in the blink of an eye'.

Everybody helps each other out. Thats usually how it works here. The mods resolve most issues that need resolving. This issue has already been resolved multiple times, yet you keep going. If your not going to accept that everybody helps each other and mods only come in when they need to, then maybe (as spit said) SimV isn't the right place for you. I'm sorry but I can't word it any other way.

Someone said something to you that didn't sit too well, so what? This is the internet, just go on a different thread if you're so hurt and forget about it, some people take this (and other) forum way too seriously. ::)
