Whoa so much sense of speed in this one. ;)

Several things to say here;
Great idea for a shot
Fantastic background
Like a1 said, sense of speed here is incredible.

One itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny thing - the woman walking along the path doesn't seem to have noticed the three F-111's (I think) screaming past about 50 feet above her head ;D

Joke, I know there's nothing you can do about that. Still a stunner of an edit.

to be honest...I've seen much better.....the blurring on the planes is too much...looks really unrealistic.....and the planes are all clearly the same cut out...maybe have one banking or them braeking or something....its OK....I just know you can do better than this....

Hee heeeeeeeeee! Interesting comments this time around!  :)

Oh, SB, I could remove the woman from the image in two seconds flat. That is REALLY easy to do. I made a concious choice, for better or worse, to leave her in. Just a matter of personal taste I suppose.

As I listen to what you are saying, Mic, it became apparent that we are talking about two different goals. I decided to use just one cutout because numbers aren't visible and because I wanted the flight to be in tight formation at the same angle. When I blurred, I relied upon my photography experience and it looked about like I wanted it to. BTW, Mic, this is the first time I have ever blurred a plane in an image. I usually like them sharp.

What I was going for was an overall effect, sort of like a snapshot with a cheap camera, whereas I'm usually showcasing the plane or planes. Sorry that you don't care for it much, Mic, but it came out pretty much the way I intended it to. What can I say, M8, maybe I just have bad taste!  ;)

Thanks, a1, at least I got that part across.  :)

P. S. F-105's  ;)

Very nice Don..  I see exactly what you're trying to do with this and it's very effective.  I think the 2 ship would have been better or a change in formation.  Perhaps all echelon right?   BTW SB they're F-105's.

hhmmm....

a sense of speed is indeed portrayed but it looks to unrealistic. as mic said the blur is to much.... also the blending of aircraft and scenery needs some work... looks like you have taken a prit stick and a magazine cutout...

however interesting idea harry, keep it up, you will nail it! :)

Although I really like the colours in this one, I have to be brutally honest and say that I don't care much for the blurring and composition. Sorry!

I do like the woman... if you could just make that skirt a little bit shorter...  ;D ;)

Nice to see you doing composites again.

...but this one doesn't work for me, especially the blur on the Thuds. It would have been way cooler seeing them "cross" the image in the background from right to left.

Well, at least it looks like I've stimulated some ideas!  :)

Man, I had a hard time finding any decent images of Vietnam! Only found two good ones! Maybe I can do a better job with the other one.  ;)

You should try to make some movie screenshots then! There are a lot of movies about Vietnam. I think you can get a background or two out of them...  ;)

Oh, that sounds like a good idea, Sytse!  :)

You mean like grab some movie stills? The only thing I worry about is copyright. I always make sure that my background images can be used without restriction.  ;)

Well... I wouldn't worry too much about the copy right. The movie guys get a lot of money for the movies and I don't think a little screenshot edit is going to hurt that. In fact, I don't think using a movie still for a composite will effect the amount of money they make at all! Also, you're already braking the (copy right) law, because you're posting pictures from MSFS. I doubt you got official permission for that...  ;)

Just don't get me wrong here though... I do care about copyright, especially if someone worked hard on his/her creation and didn't make any money with it and/or didn't get famous. I think, most off all, those people's work should be credited accordingly and they should always be asked for permission to use their work.

Sounds logical to me, Sytse. I'll give it a go and see what I can find!  :)

Thanks, M8! Good idea!  8-)
