I like the burner in the second one, I agree that the first is over sharpend.  Also near the engine on the second there is some coruption I think caused by the compresion, you could try using a better quality form of jpg compresion such as cubic that I don't think would increase picture size (just take more time to save).

I concur. Sharpening, at times leaves too much of a halo around the edges and is easy to see, but in any event, fine shots to display here and make many of us jealous.........good stuff Andy ! :o

Thanks gents ......... I think part of the problem with the first one is the compression as well as the sharpening. The uncompressed image looked much clearer.
