Just have it so the canvas is 800x600 to begin with. Should turn out fine.

Every time is see the "Stars and Stripes" perched in the corner of a room, or fluttering in someones garden, or stuck on the side of a Saturn V launch vehicle, or a stationary flag in a mock-up of the Moon landing in an American film, I immediately switch the television off and water the flowers instead... ... ...!

Sorry Foz, but I can't agree with you there. The flag on military uniforms, rockets or in front of the White House are there for a good reason.

All (evil) things are okay in a healthy dose - even patriotism and nationalism.

Yep, you're quite right there. We have Union Jacks flying outside certain buildings/areas, my local police station for example. Uniforms, military equipment, etc, have the flags for identity (I presume), which is fine. Though I don't like it when it gets a little over the top. I don't have St. George's flag hanging out of my window...

Whilst in the British Army in the REME, the only emblem I had sewn on the sleeves of my jacket was the Crossed Keys, indicating the Army on the Rhine in Germany...
....not a Union Flag in sight... ...!
None of our vehicles had the Union Flag painted on them.

None of it seemed necessary, and would have served little purpose.

The lack of national emblems on our uniforms meant that were were inconspicuous, and less likely to be shot at by some someone with a particular grudge at our presence.

Different cultures, different traditions. The British have done more than their fair share of flag-waving in the past & we're still hated for it in some parts of the World. That all died out with the British Empire but it was a gradual process. It doesn't seem that long ago that it was quite normal to see servicemen thumbing lifts wherever you went in this country. Most people would stop & give them a lift. I don't think that's been allowed for some years now & members of the services no longer wear uniform unless they're on duty or taking part in a parade. I suspect the same applies to cadets as I haven't seen any around here for years except when marshalling at the local air display & the odd band parade. I used to proudly wear my ATC uniform in the street on the way to parade nights. I don't know how they go on now but I'm not sure that would be encouraged either.

OK, then as of this post, I will repost with the new edit. It is gona be within guidlines, and while it is the same backround, it has a poem on it as to what I think the US Military's call is. If this edit offends anyone, please tell me and I will remove it. Sorry if I offended anyone with the first one, that was not my intention.
