Hey Carl, pretty sweet editing bro, here's my tip for you, as you can see better in the writing I did on a copy of your shot below. This is something I still struggle with in my edits but am trying to overcome it.

I try to look for shadows in the background shot i'm going to use if there is no sun present in the pic, this tells me where the sun is by the direction the shadows fall in. I then try to take my screenshots to match this in FS2004, I'll fly my plane in the direction that matches the sun's placement in the background i'm gonna use. As you can see in the shot, you have glare on the plane fuselage from the angle to the right, when the shadows on the ground tell me the sun is up and to the left. When you get these things right or close, it really adds to the realism of the edit. Hope this helps.

Great shot but the master is right, I get picky about lighting too.

if i was to be picky...
i would say the gradient is wrong for the sky, considering everything else in the edit..
