The least we could do is make a hall of fame, if it's ok with the mods.

About a prize. Personaly i don't care about a prize, but if anyone wants to make a donation. But like you said it's an unofficial thing so I don't think we need a prize

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and, whatever you hit, call it the target.

There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you

Some kind of record of past winners is a good idea, we can see how ideas progress as the competition evolves  :) just needs the nod, and the sticky from the mods.

Some ideas for possible rules of the comps

1 : No-one can be forced to judge
2 : No-one who judges can enter the competition
3 : Entries must be posted in a thread marked Edit Competition and the year and month of entry (name optional).
4 : Competitions will run for the first 3 weeks of the month. The last week will be for judging, and announcing of winners, and the next months contest brief.
5 Anyone wishing to judge must make announce this in their entry

just my ideas for now

Can i just add to this.
As far as possible rules.
Image contents? payware and freeware, or freeware only? something to think about there.
specific themes? are you going to run themes like the main contest or will it just be a free for all so to speak?

Those are just a few ideas for when finalising the contest.

I could also, if needs be, keep a reasonable size H.O.F on my rather pants Angelfire site, just until a better solution is found ;)

Nice idea for a prize, but after a year the expence is going to mout up, maybe we just keep it low key for now.

thats a little unfair in those in between. for now, for simplicity, i'd say just keep it at some kind of "getting your work displayed" prize.

Prizes are all good if you can consistantly provide them, which in all fairness we cant really, unless someone can work a deal with an FS company  :)

I got the solution to the image problem....
have them create a 'thumbnail' about 100x100 with the link to the larger image...

It wouldnt take up much space, bandwith.. etc..

I doubt prizes for this compo would work as some would rip out their hair to get them, and it is quite a steep learning curve to edit pictures..

Hey guys, seems we have a real interest in having an "Edited Screenshot Contest". I will tell you that the mods & judges who run the Monthly Screenie Contest have no time to dedicate to something like this. We have a hard enough time running the Monthly!  :o

I have notified Pete about this thread so he can take a look. He is real busy so he might not get into the Edited forum too often.

I will suggest that maybe you guys can have 1 mod only on this forum who can "run" it if they so desire. There is really no way of making a separate forum for this, we have enough already! Like somebody said, you really don't need a prize, bragging rites is good enough for a month! The "Edited Screenshot Hall of Fame" is a good idea for a sticky, but I would say that's it in regards to "Cluttering the forum". I will let him know and if you have any questions, you can PM me and I will do whatever I can to see if it flies! It can't go like this one, people on dial up have a hard time loading pages and the goal here is to make the forums run smoothly for everybody.  ;D
