Cheers Dave, suggestions sound good to me 8)

I volunteer to judge (the next one at least), as I'm not much of an editor ;)

Cheers,

Carl

I volunteer to judge. I am not a great editor.

I like the Idea of seperate posts for every entry, but I think we then need to have a sticky post for the contest rules.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and, whatever you hit, call it the target.

There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you

Some ideas for possible rules of the comps

1 : No-one can be forced to judge
2 : No-one who judges can enter the competition
3 : Entries must be posted in a thread marked Edit Competition and the year and month of entry (name optional).
4 : Competitions will run for the first 3 weeks of the month. The last week will be for judging, and announcing of winners, and the next months contest brief.
5 Anyone wishing to judge must make announce this in their entry

just my ideas for now

If you want these sticky topics you have to ask Pete. I would advise you to send him a PM as he prob doesnt get to see every forum to often.

I dont know if another mod can sticky it. But i am sure they wouldnt mind, the idea is a good one without a doubt, lets face it editing shots isnt the easiest thing in the world, lord knows i could never get it. Set it out right plan it right and it could take off well. Its a good way to give those who do edit like yourself, a little recognition.

just a thought, with regards to ease of managing / judging , and keeping withing size regs, people could just use the text link in their posts, so the thread dosnt end up huge  :) then all the judges have to do is wisk down and check out all the links, any comments on this?

With repect, we need a mod who's on the edit forums quite alot, cause we need to Lock posts that arnt in the regulations and all that stuff..

Hmmm.. like ure idea andy.. but it takes away the tradition of screenshot forums, being able to browse down and see what ure looking at without having to click 10 thousand times... lol  ;D

I think any mod can sticky items... if they have the privilige..

hmm I see what you mean about being able to see the pics. The thing i see is that with the official comp, all the entries are in one place, whereas with ours, we're mingled in with the rest of the edits. I dont want us to like miss one out or anything because its been pushed so far down the list etc...

Aye, this could be a problem ::)
Other than that, I'd say it's 'all good'

Must have done something right, judging by the amount of hits it got ;) ;D

Andy : Why can't we FORCE people to judge? ;D ;) :P
LOL..... ;D
Rules look good to me so far :)

Anyways, I'm certain we'll find a way round it and get going soon ;)

Later all,

Carl

P.S - although I'm not a mod, I'm always on the edits forum, just to see if I can pick-up any tips, I'll also save EVERY entry onto my HD, that way I can browse all pics at once ;)
