How do you get the background to look blury while keeping the aircraft in the foreground so sharp?  Masking ???

Jordon I use the blur tool, set to like 50% with a relatively large brush and just blur parts that I want to look like are in the distance, keeping in mind that I don't stop the blur once I start, I keep my finger down on the mouse, that way I can then go to edit, then click on fade blur and use the slider to weaken it to my likeing. Hope this helps, and on the second one I use diffused glow under distort options, then faded that to my likeing also. :)
