Is this real or fake!

Postby A/SGT.Mav316 » Tue Aug 31, 2004 6:41 pm

I was on another website and came across this image of a JAL airliner sitting on the taxi way with its reflection showing in the water on the floor from the rain.

Is this a photoshop or is this really possible in FS9? If someone has the name of the file that does this can you share this with everyone!

Give it a couple more releases of MFS as computers get more and more powerful, we might see wet ground effects :D

That is a fantastic edit though!!!! Thumb way up!

An old photoshop trick, which is not hard to do at all.
Copy the upper half picture, paste it on a new layer, add some transparancy and make the colors more dull...there's your artwork...  ;)

I kinda figured it was a photoshop! The image was interesting and I wanted to share! I found it while looking for downloads at AVSim

@Nexus, also, don't forget inverting the copied layer and adding the ripple filter/effect.

Nice edit nonetheless.

I am not a scenery specialist, but it might be possible to ad a alpha channel to the runway textures and make it reflect.  The runways would end up looking more like chrome than concrete or asphalt. ;D  But the ground textures might not have the same properties as the planes for the water to cast reflections. ;D

It is a cool image. ;D

Codered, that's a great idea.  Hopefully someone will try it and see if it works.  With some tweaking, you could easily turn down the chrome-ness of the texture....unfortunately I am about as alpha-literate as my cat.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.
