The DC-3 began flying around 1933. I saw one fly over my house yesterday evening. Most likely a cargo hauler on it's way back to Opa Locka. How many 1933 cargo trucks can you think of, that would still be able to operate in an actual, cost affective, scenario. If the DC-3 is still doing business 70 years after inception, I think you and I both will be eating soft food and wearing diapers, when the "seven five" will just be getting started! Although, the one dividing factor......DC-3 vs 757, is pressurization. The modern jet takes a lot more airframe abuse, due to all of the expansion and retraction.
