Need Drawings for Martin 250CE Turret

Postby Skua » Thu Aug 28, 2003 12:25 pm

Just getting started on my 1/12 scale B-26B project. One bit of info I have been unable to locate is a CLEAR image of the internal arrangement of the Martin 250CE upper turret. This same turret was used on the B-24 and on some models of the B-17, B-25 and Lancaster.

I have the squadron/Signals publication on the B-26, but the drawings it has of the turret are unclear as to internal structure. I want to be able to reproduce the major components of the gun mount, ammo feed and gunsight. If anyone knows of some place on the WWW where I might find this, please let me know.

Thanks,

Skua

I found this image in one of my modeling magazines. The wires are there to support the metal gun barrels that were added later.

Image

It might help.

A few years back I was working on a model of a B-26 and I remember finding a webpage that had some photos a person had taken at an airshow where someone had just the turret on display. Didn't keep a copy of the image unfortunately, but it still might be out there.

Be aware that on B-24s, the Martin Model 250CE3, was replace with Martin A-3D and K-13 (Top Hat or High Hat) turrets.
