SS Assault Regiment Wotan

I've been reading those Charles Whiting books again, they're fiction, but he writes at the beginning that they are based on the Von Dodenburg papers, written by the commandant of the unit while in Italian exile. Does anyone know how I can contact Whiting to verify any of this?

Write him a letter and send it to his publisher, the publisher should send it on to his agent who in turn should pass it on to the author.  You may get a reply, my father did back in the seventies when he wrote to John Betjamin in this way.
