It was definitely a bulk item. Chain mail must have come in very large envelopes back then -- if you had to pay the postage on it these days, you'd about lose your shirt!Wonder of they got it by mail order? Large discount for bulk purchases. Extra discount for Daily Mail readers when ordered on the special chain letter application form (Enc.).
