I have to say, I would not have agreed not to sue the police and would have had my day in court (only on the basis of what I have read in the two reports).......

PS, I do believe though, we do have such areas around nuclear plants (and other such sensitive structures) in the UK though.....??

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

..its just when I hear the magic words; "County Sheriff" (and his Deputy?), my thoughts immediately go to Hollywood, 1840, Gold Rush, and Cowboy and Indian times, and I therefore know that events are not going to proceed quietly and sensibly thereafter; and folks are either going to be shot, or end up in jail, or both...

We have "Police", (we call them Coppers), who can sometimes be a bit irritating.
