Space junk littering orbit...

Postby patchz » Fri Sep 02, 2011 6:34 am

[quote]Space junk has made such a mess of Earth's orbit that experts say we may need to finally think about cleaning it up.

That may mean vacuuming up debris with weird space technology

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Great Link Larry... ;)

We need to start cleaning up the mess we make in the seas, oceans, lakes, rivers, forests, mountains, deserts and space before we start thinking about polluting space or anywhere else... ;)

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Could be one option, but think of all the precious and rare metals that could be reclaimed. Enough gold up their to chop a zero or two of the earth bound price if it was recovered......

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Not to be a downer, but the message was evident long before the space programs. We would only need to look under the surface of the oceans. I'm not really a fire and brimstone ecologist but mankind sometimes seems to be the greatest natural disaster Earth has ever encountered.

For those who are interested:

Google Earth Satellite Tracker

Now that's purely the satellites. Which is a fraction of the problem.

Ironically, I bet it gives some benefit against global warming when you have that much crap floating in space!
