...an interesting little discussion on BBC 2 Radio this morning.

The cost of driving from Hong Kong Airport, etc, to Great Britain by road, in the average Family Car, with fuel prices based upon UK prices including Tax, compared to a seat on a Jumbo Jet to convey one from point A to point B... :o...!

Distance by road.
Fuel cost per gallon.
Miles per gallon.

A VERY expensive drive!.... :o...!

Paul...I'm stopping where I am!... ;)...!

I saw on the news last night, they were talking about this volcano's last eruption about 100 years ago or something like that.  They said it lasted two years.  The only difference, it didn't matter to airplanes, as they didn't exist.

To Saultfresh:

Curiously, I have just looked on Google Earth and can see no sign at all of the supposed "volcanic ash cloud".

Last photo taken there was 2002-2008. More recent photos are 2008/2009 in most places. Seems unlikely to have volcano ash from eruptions that hadn't happened yet.

Irony and a sense of humour are not strong on the forum today
