Wow, I didn't know they extended the closure time. It used to be earlier on Sunday since that is the last day of the show.  :-/

Unfortunately with Reading, the only fields that are "close" are more than 10nm away.

You may be able to contact one of these two airports to see if they do car rental services for the airshow weekend. It wouldn't surprise me since I bet a lot of folks will be trying to fly in.
As far as I know, they normally don't do rentals, but you never know with the circumstances.
The FBO at Pottstown is pretty good, so it's worth a shot.

Another thought: whoever drives, assuming it's someone attending the show, wouldn't necessarily have to do a RT, and miss any of  the airshow (one reason I'm not exactly volunteering, LOL).
They could do the pickup (early, I hope- remember, getting in is a bit involved), then when Brett has to vamoose, maybe he could call a taxi or something. The requirement would be that either the buses are running at that time, or the taxi would be able to get closer to the display areas. It's a loooong walk from the spectator entrance to the road, or even the parking areas.

But that would be simpler and cheaper than renting a car, and nobody else would miss most of the show.

Assuming I will be there Sunday (still not definite), I'd be willing to pick you up at Pottstown or wherever on my way to Reading, if there was another plan for getting you back there while the show is in progress.

This will get too complicated, in a hurry..lol .. Making plans for Oshkosh is easier.

I'm gonna see about going to the show, Saturday, and then spend the night.. fly home Sunday. This is doubtful, as I don't think I can have the plane for the whole weekend..AND, I'm not sure my buddy can go for two days.. AND.. hmmm.. that's enough "ands"..  :D

Well men, we're two weeks away. Any final decisions been made? As of now I'm looking at arriving at RDG around 0800 on Saturday morning from N40.

My final plans depend on a few things... for example: do you have an empty seat on that flight? ;D

Regardless, I will probably also be there Saturday, but it's still kinda up in the air.

Not unless you want to cram into the luggage hold of an Aerobat. ;D

Apologies for the second bump, but it's getting to crunch time. What seems to be the meet-up game plan (if any)?

There's a good chance I won't be there... really shouldn't be spending money on stuff like that right now. And we've started covering the glider... might be busy with that next weekend. But we'll see.

Doesn't look like I'll be flying down either. The Aerobat is heading north to receive some new avionics. Probably for the better, as it's cheaper (but not as fun) to drive. Hope to see some of you guys there. It's looking like Saturday for me.

Sean, if you want, you could meet me at my house and we could carpool. If anything, you can save on gas.

Welll.. I won't be going either..  Getting the plane for the whole weekend was gonna be tough enough..  Now we're also short a C172.

That's a bizarre story itself. There's a golf course right at the threshold of runway 28L at Port Columbus..  You guessed it..  leading-edge wing damage from a golf ball strike  ::)

Makes ya wonder what risk a jet might be at  :-?

Final plans are settled. Driving down Sunday morning to arrive at 0900. Anyone else going that day?
