Just a random question

Do civil planes have insurance? Obviously I guess they wouldn't have any for military aircraft, but for regular aircraft?

Short answer...yes!

Now are you referring to commercial aircraft or GA.  Some GA owners may neglect to have insurance, but most all aircraft carry extensive liability insurance.
