Cessna Announces 2,300 Layoffs, Closing Bend Plant

I already know 5 people who have been laid off, and I would expect my friend, who is currently in Qatar, to be one of the next to be laid off.  I have also noticed that the 2 Cessna dealerships at KAAO haven't exactly been booming.

Just read at the bottom that the Columbus is being suspended.  Make that 6 friends who have or will be laid off.

wow its sad to see this economic slump hitting general aviation. i am a cessna kind of guy, so this is particularly bad news for me. although i cant imagine piper doing toom uch better either. i wonder how cirrus and diamond are holding up?
