Does anyone know of an adapter or something to plug a cd player or MP3 player into a headset while flying. does not necesserally have to auto mute when there is a transmission. preferably under $70 USD?

Well.. unless you're flying as a passenger (and I'll assume you will be), the auto-mute is not optional..

Here's the least expensive one I could find... and it has auto-mute..

My cheap solution is a set of low profile ear-buds under the headset. The standard iPod ones work well for most people, they were a little too tall for me, so they'd start to hurt after an hour or so of being pressed on by the headset. I just went to the store and found an even smaller set that works just fine. I think it ran me about $40.

And I have to tack on the standard word of caution. You have to set the volume such that you can clearly hear the radio over your music at all times.
