How do people buy A380 tickets?

Postby tcco94 » Wed Sep 24, 2008 9:28 pm

I know the prices for the A380 but I wondered how people buy those tickets just for a normal route. I know the first route tickets were really expensive and they had ceremonys but for Singapore Airlines they should have the A380 just running like any other of there aircrafts so do you buy it the same you would with any other ticket just a bigger price?

Thanks  8-)

I can field this one, since I flew the A380 to Changi and Narita.

The answer, is like any normal ticket. You just have to check the flight listing...and see what aircraft is using that route. In October, Qantas will begin flights to Los Angeles (our first A380 was delivered a few days ago).

Qantas might start flights to KSFO. Later on when they get more A380s.

Might. No mention of it.

Whereas SQ flight HKG-SFO has been constantly talked about.

Indeed.

Singapore certainly refuses to give any suites for frequent flyer awards. Also since, as Singapore claims, R is a class beyond F, Singapore refuses to allow people with StarAlliance First Class round the world tickets into suites.

What are Emirates and Qantas doing with their tickets?

Well I would ask the airlines but they probally would never get back to me. Everytime I send a message out to a Customer Service or such they never reply back.

So what im hearing is that the suites arn't giving out to anyone you have to be like a member of Singapore Airlines or something or a frequent flyer with them. :-?

I know the Emirates have the nice shower in there suites and Qanta's isnt as nice as the other airliners but who am I kidding there all beautiful and i'd love to be in one on a 13 hour flight  ;)

No.
The way to get on A380 is to pay money - lots of it. Singapore has higher prices on A380, and does not offer the usual discount offers. Like frequent flyer award tickets - so anyone, frequent flyer or not, should pay money.
