thats just what the bid is up to... reserve is probably 2-3 times higher

You'd be surprised right now, the twin market is in the dumps.  You can find some nice Barons for under $100k.

yup... depends on the plane though. flight schools ae almost always on the lookout for a Seneca or a duchess or Apache.

im still undecided on what my flight school plane is going to be.

have a few guys competing to sell me planes right now its kinda nice  :D

Are you sure about that? The Apache is old enough to be regarded as a vintage aircraft. I don't know how many are still flying in the US but to the best of my knowledge there is only one in the UK.

There are three on my field alone (including this one)

I know of a couple at another nearby airport and i know of yet another at an airport about 70 miles from here.

i wasn't aware that they were so rare on your side of the pond

Possibly a few more than one. According to one source there were 5 in March 2007. The later Aztec is also designated PA-23 which causes some confusion. Come to think of it you don't see many of them around these parts nowadays either. I know I've only seen one Apache in the last 10 years or so but that doesn't mean a lot.

Here's one of the UK survivors. The owners reckon it's the oldest airworthy example in the world. I was surprised to find that it was based on a Stinson design. http://www.downdale.com/gbexo.html

A lot of Van's builders find old PA-23's cheap and buy them for their engines.
