As far as the Liberty vs the Europa  (remember years ago I made a Europa for FS2002 ?  lol )... They're quite different.  The Liberty's frame is different (to allow for the bigger engine).. it employs a lot more carbon-fiber.. has that goofy, dual FADEC system, and has cockpit equiped and appointed in a way to make conventional, light-single owners envious. Ours even had two Garmin 430s.

When I researched Europas.. one could be put together for about $55,000 (engine, avionics and all)..  The delivery price on that Liberty was nearly $170,000. It wasn't just a factory-built kit plane. It was more like a genuine factory-built plane, based on the Europa configuration.

As far as I know.. they never did report on what happened to that prop.. I'll check, next time I'm in Ohio  :)

I didn't realise that. You probably know more about the Europa than I do. LOL

Be interesting to know what happened about that prop.

I realise the Liberty is virtually a completely different aircraft. Of them all I rather like the original Europa Classic with that solitary big wheel. Here's a shot I took earlier. ;)

Wow..  great shot !

There's something about that airframe that's appealing.. I deserves to be scaled up; to a genuine, 4-seat, 230HP touring plane (with toe-brakes of course.. lol )

Not so long ago the name Rotax was associated with aircraft electrical components like starters & generators. We used to overhaul them at work. This was a British company with no connection to the Austrian engine manufacturer of the same name. Strangely enough it started out in the motorcycle accessory business. It's now known as Lucas Aerospace. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucas_Industries_plc#Rotax

Not a lot of people know that! 8-) ;)
