Duxford October show

Postby mrjake2002 » Tue Sep 09, 2008 3:45 pm

Anyone going to the Duxford October show?? I'm hoping to get up there.

Here's the list that's up on Flightline...

Hawk (RAF)
Tucano (RAF)
BBMF Spitfire
Black Cats
F-16 (Belgium)
Sea King (Belgium)
Patrouille de France
Spitfire IXT (Carolyn Grace)
B-17 (Sally B - is listed, but I dont think It'll be ready?)
Catalina

With the Duxford locals too, could be a cracking show!  :)

So, anyone going?

Sally B's site says she definitely won't be flying till 2009

If the Belgian F16 and spitfire piccies were anything to go by last year then that should be brilliant.....I might go....can't decide yet......

PS....IWM site saying XH558 is coming......funding permitting :P

After missing this last weekends show I'll be going in October. I do hope the Vulcan can attend, I've managed to miss it all year! ::)

As always it depends on the weather. It hasn't been too good this season & that's an understatement.

I do hope the Vulcan can attend, I've managed to miss it all year! ::)

More like it's missed you. Its attendance record has not been good so far, partly due to the rotten weather. I still say I'll believe it when I see it with my own eyes.

According to the TVOC site it's due to display at the Goodwood Revival meeting on 21st September. I might toddle along to the Tangmere museum. If it turns up it should be visible from miles around..

Just realised that it clashes with the Autumn show at Old Warden.* Bad planning on someone's part. ::)

*That's where I'll be going.

Trains to Cambridge are pants on Sundays :P

If anyone wouldn't mind offering a lift to OW from Biggleswade Station I'd happily take them up on it :P

If I was going I'd be more than willing. However, as has happened all to often this year, one is out of the country.

Sorry Mic. I'd like to help but I won't know until that morning if I'm going. If I do decide to go I like to get there early.

You could always walk to Old Warden from the station. Do you good. I know several people that do. :P

It's tempting, but I can't get there until about 11ish, and I fear following the walk the flying will have already started....not to mention having to walk back again.....:P

It looks about the same distance from Kemble station to the airfield entrance (which I walked on Sunday) and took me about an hour. (It was quite hilly though....)

Come to think of it, a taxi would only be a fiver or so each way.
