WW2 Overhead...I am amazed

Postby a1 » Tue May 06, 2008 5:58 pm

Well today I got a really good surprise at school. While outside on the field i say what looks to be a Spitfire fly around 900ft over head. Then about 10min later a B-17 Bomber in full war paint flew just as close. Then when I thought the surprise was over a B-25 in full war paint flew fast overhead and off in the distance I saw either a P-51 or a P-38.

I was so mad I did not have a camera with me.

It was flying towards the SE or E. I have not heard of any airshows around so I was thinking of a WW2 demonstration of some sorts.

But anyways those planes made my day. :D

My school is righ tunder the approach pattern of KLAX. ;)

There's quite a difference between a P-51 and a P-38.  ;)

Sounds excellent though, you should have got some pics.  8-)

We had a P-51D and a Yak playing tag over Little Chalfont the other evening as I was walking home from the Underground station 8-)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
