LSFM Spit and Hurri ground collision...

A little careless perhaps - seems the Spit ran into the rear of the Hurri on landing. No injuries, but major damage to both:

A tad careless indeed.

Looks like about the same as what happened at Oshkosh last year.  There needs to be a masterclass on formation landings in WW2 fighers.  Never before in the history of aviation has there been aircraft with so powerfull engines, big props, and light weight airframes (besides reno).  Recipie for disaster for any offguard pilot

To be fair, it appears to have been a fair bit different - one of the 'Stangs at Oshkosh was still just about airborne - this appears to have been relatively low speed in the taxi.

As for formation landings, if they are well planned and briefed then all should be safe. :)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Woops! Glad the pilots are OK, hope the aircraft don't require too many repairs.

Seems that it was a right brake failure on the Hurri, which ground looped in front of the Spit. Awful bad luck.

Yea, somewhat ironic because had I been in town I would have gone to that show.  I go to it every year, quite possibly the best airshow I've been to the past few!  Quite a shame...
