A private plane struck a crowd of onlookers shortly after landing at a small air show in central Germany on Saturday, killing one person and injuring 10 others, including two children, police said.

I originally typed 100 times worse. If it had been the pilot, c'est la vie (in the nicest possible way), but as it was a spectator I suspect if this was a public event, it could have nasty consequences.

The consequence will be a couple of politicians getting there faces on TV and talking about things they know nothing about and then and accompanying knee jerk reaction and knowing how it works here that will either be a ban of some sort or spectators have to be three miles from the display line

Im not to familiar what happend there(i know about the crash), i can only geus someone banned airshows?

After Ramstein (75 killed):

The disaster resulted in a total ban of public airshows in West Germany, which was lifted three years later and replaced with the following safety regulations:

   * Increased minimum height and distance from spectators. A picture of the previous airshow in 1987 revealed that there were no safety barriers near the runways; existing rules prescribed a distance of 400 meters according to the aircraft types.
   * Banning of maneuvers in the direction of spectators.
   * All maneuvers subject to approval by authorities.

The Ostend crash was 1997, when the Royal Jordanian Falcons display team's solo aircraft crashed into a medical tent IIRC. 9 were killed. As a result further tightening of regulations occured (British members may find this was when the Red Arrows stopped beginning their display by coming over the crowd from behind), and with insurance payouts to relatives of around $1,000,000 per family, the cost of operating aircraft and organising displays increased.
