Re: the pics...
Not a bad-looking "Worrier"...

I think my leaning towards Cessnas is due primarily to just knowing them well, but that single-door thing did always bug me.
But look at it this way: that's only one set of hinges, seals, latches, etc. to worry about servicing.

The panel is great, despite the " inop" VOR ...like you'd need two with a 430 in there. Very tidy, and the plastic, etc. looks real good for a 6K-plus-hr trainer.
And looky! You could fly NDB approaches in it!!

Speaking of the 430: WAAS could be extremely useful, I'm pretty sure there are CDIs out there that will connect to the 430, and the wx features could also be a boon, as well (although I understand your point).
It provides another "look ahead" before you can even raise Flight Watch in your destination area... definitely worth having. It's not just for skirting nasty conditions with confidence in a heavy, FIKI-equipped plane.
I've been thinking that, assuming I can't find a 140 with an IFR GPS in it, that I might get a 496, instead of a low -end (but still pricey) IFR panel-mount with no map display or wx... nothing in the regs against having a 496 turned on during IFR flight, for "situational awareness".

Flying IFR in a 140, I'd be even more limited than you in a Warrior... that XM weather could make all the difference some day.
Definitely get a 3rd-party inspection done, and be sure to order a CD of AD compliance records on this one from the FAA... only ten bucks, and worth it for peace of mind. I just ordered one on 05N; should be interesting reading... some of the 140 ADs go back to the late 40s...

BTW, how are you planning to pay for this? Got a wad of cash under the mattress, or are you thinking of financing it?
