Gliding today... Cancelled :(

Postby machineman9 » Sat Dec 22, 2007 10:53 am

Today some of the people from 100 squadron cadets (myself included) were meant to be gliding, or atleast flying, in the vigilant... But unforunately due to weather conditions it had to be cancelled.

Bit of a shame, but I guess it does happen.

Ohwell, shall hopefully do it some time next year for real  ;D... I did get to sit in it though, so not all was lost  ;)

Lol... Not 643? If the weather is good tomorrow pop along to RAF Syerston and we'll give you a flight!  ;) ;D

Its like mastermind... just needed to get them in the right order  ;D

Nice offer too, but I am go-karting with the squadron at some random place

One good thing about that place though is that its only half an hour from where I live... should get me some hours down there when I can.

Its either getting used to flying, or getting used to England...

Still, our party might be put up for priorety next time we go.

As for the go-karting, it was pretty damn sweet. I came third, third, second, first in my 4 races and I think I did quite well for a first timer going against some adults and people who've been before. Too bad I came 16th out of the squadron (38 places, but the first 9 or so were near maximum points) so I didnt make the semi-finals.

Sometimes it feels like the weather it is just doing it all too bother us, i was standing all geared up ready too jump into the C208 for my first jump, everbody all over excited, and then we heard a heavy thunderstorm was speeding our way, turned out it was about as heavy as it would get this year over here, i had to cycle through it too, we went for shelter though, wasnt really safe moving on.

Eventualy we made the first jump, although the wind was a little rough(many off-zonelandings) it still was a blast, i'd say aviation is worth waiting on. :)
