Auuuuugh! I hate those sort of questions where you have to pick one from a whole pile of favorites.
Hm . . . well . . . hm . . .
I guess I would like to go in an Airvan AV-8 and fly from my family's home in Minot, ND. First stop would be in Montana somewhere, probably near Glacier Park. Then, it would be on to the Tri-Cities, WA to pick up my parents (though, perhaps only my dad would willingly get on the plane). After that, maybe a hop over to Portland. From Portland, it's on to Humboldt County, CA to pick up my friends. That makes 8 of us (my sweety, my step-son, my daughter, my father (my mom probably stayed behind), my friend Josh, my friend Barb, Barb's son, and then me as the pilot!). From there, it's a tour of the Pacific Northwest Coast, the Cascade Mountains, Western Washington and Canada, and finally, a quick visit to Alaska.
In other words, I want to go and see all the wonderful things you cannot see by car. Also, the AV-8, being a smaller aircraft, would allow for everyone to have a great view and be very much in touch with the flying experience. In theory, it also has enough capacity that we could bring a bit of luggage along.
Of course, this assumes I have go ahead and got my pilot's license. Without it, I would hate to have to pick who stays behind . . . Then again, if we are fantasizing, I would just take two AV-8's in four-seat passenger/cargo combination and then load up on a ton of camping gear in each one to make the stay in Alaska even more fun.
I don't ask for much, do I? ::)
