I love the smell of day-glow in the morning. Almost as bad as the SAC Hi-vis paint scheme for the C-5A?

To be honest, with the ranges of today's anti-air weapons and sophistication of radar, does the paint scheme really matter all that much in 90% of engagements with non-stealth aircraft? How often do aircraft get within visual range now that we have missiles capable of shooting more than 40 miles.
