I came back from Nigeria this Januari in a KLM DC-10. Not quite as deluxe as the 777 we had when we went there 5 weeks earlier......

Crash ;)

Md11 crash. ;)
And I must admit, after an almost 14 hour flight from amsterdam to Memphis on one (delays and various other problems) I never wanted to get on an MD11 again. Too bad 3 and a half weeks later I had to return home. ::) ;D
The MD11 lacks the character that the DC10 has, it doesn't have the same almost trouser filling, long take off run, only to rocket into the air at such a rate that it takes your lungs and liver 4000 feet to catch up, that the 10 has. Doesn't sound as nice either. Yes the 10 is horribly cramped but you can ignore that for its charms.

With me being in the Air Force, I see my share of KC-10's, World Airways DC-10's, FedEx DC-10's and MD-11's. And not to mention the Fore Fighting DC-10 that was used recently.....until it scraped some tree tops on the way out of water run.

Forget Memphis, Travis and McGuire AFB are all you need to see a (tri)whole lot of DC-10s lined up with each other. ;)
