Prop tip vortices - very much the same kind of thing you get from wingtips etc in moist enough conditions. :)

like the trails you get (in flight sims atleast) when you go high enough and at an angle?

edit... i mean like in the pic found here

but, on the blades instead.

Yep - remember in its most basic form a prop is very similar to wing (as it has an aerofoil section) rotating at very high speed!

Each of those spiraling lines is itself a little spiral of air, just like the vortices that come off wingtips. They form a corkscrew shape because that's the path the prop tip takes as the plane moves forward.
Because that spiral flow is moving much faster than the air around it, its relative temperature drops along with its pressure , so moisture in the air condenses into mist in the affected region, even though the surrounding air appears clear and dry.

You can put it in FS9 if you have the patience.

I love pictures like that because you can see how the spiraling slipstream from the props interacts with the wings.
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.

Seems a little odd to me that the only pics I've ever seen of this phenomenon are of C-130's. Does this happen with other prop planes as well, or is the C-130 particularly (in)famous for them? ;)

Try and find some photos taken on carriers in the pacific in WWII - aircraft such as the Corsair and Hellcat in particular...
