OK, I now know what happened. The slat track retracts into a channel, called the "Can" that is a box section that is formed inside the fuel tank to allow the the slat track a place to retract to. It would appear that a bolt or nut was able to enter the "can" and as the slat retracted the slat just punched the bolt/nut throught the "can" into the fuel tank. The rest is history.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
