Is Dreamliner supposed to fly before Superjet rolls out?
Is Dreamliner supposed to fly before Superjet rolls out?
In the original schedule, yes; it was supposed to fly in August (although Boeing have all but admitted it won't).
With these glorious roll-outs/unveilings, I wondering if there's any correlation between the "impressiveness" of the name, and the overhype the type receives; this "Superjet" (does it go round saving the world?), Boeing's "Dreamliner" (blimey, I can't sleep in any airliner, so I won't be dreaming!), and Airbus' "A3XX" (come on, who couldn't work out it was always going to be the A380...).

Boeing admitted it won't fly in August...well maybe not officially but they've said to the media that it should fly in September
Sukhoi Superjet has been known before as the RRJ. Its in no way a competitor for the Dreamliner
What it has to offer over the competition is unpaved runway capabilities.

EMB 170, EMB 195, the Canadair thingie in the same capacity range...
Basically the Sukhoi plane was designed from day 1 to be gravel and snow safe
