Rather poor "Balbo" by Legends standards! ;D Only 21 aircraft! ;D Used to get 30-35... :)

Shame the P-38 couldn't make it, and the P-40 couldn't fly in the show...

there were actually 25...another little formation of 4 aircraft was just to the left of this pic :D

The P40 was strange....it was parked right in front of me, they did a ground running test and found a problem, so an engineer spent about 40 mins working on the engine before telling us it was good to go, but in the end it didn't go up.... :(

Apparently it flew after the show - quite common IIRC at Duxford if an aircraft "can't" (due to paperwork etc) fly in the display...

Well, it flew before the show yesterday ;) Sea Fury burst some hydraulics on Saturday but the crew fixed it for the Balbo and the Spitfire XIVe also needed work in the morning. TFC MkV broke down when it should have flown with the Mew Gull but was also fixed for the Balbo. Some Legends regulars mising this year though. No Pink Lady, no Shuttleworth Sea Hurricane, no Rolls Royce Spitfire, No BBMF fighters, no TFC Nimrod, no ARC Spitfire Tr.9, no RN201 (gone to the US), no P-47 (also US) and no MH434. In fact, poor MH434 sat in hanger 4 with a message stuck to the tail that read "Serviceable but not required for Legends 2007". :-[

Methinks the flying budget for Legends is getting smaller. The Shuttleworth Hurri may have been unable to fly from OW perhaps, being their heaviest aircraft, but that's only speculation.
