Kemble Air Day

Postby Mictheslik » Sat Jun 16, 2007 5:08 am

Couldn't find the main thread for this....I think there was one....

Just who is going and should we meet up?

There is usually an hour or so's break for lunch in the flying display, we could meet up during that at the Brittania, which I assume will be parked in its usual position....

any thoughts?

Well...what a day...I dont care if the train on the way back was an hour late it was worth it....even though all 3 vampires that were due to turn up had some sort of failure and couldnt make it....we still had a fair few Hunters, the venom, a ground running canberra (Air Atlantique one was in maintenence unfortunately, so Delta jets displayed one of their newly accquired ex RAF examples), a Skyraider/sea fury formation, Gnat and Hunter with the red arrows and the star of the show, a formation of the Meteor with the Typhoon  :o

Pics to come :)

PS...Delta Jets put all their current projects on Static display, including a buccaneer, a canberra and a few more hunters....unfortunately I only had my long lens with me at the time...so no good shots :(

Shall I wait for your pictures then, before deciding whether it is worth posting mine ;)

What did you think of the Role Demo.....seeing it again I can see why it was deemed cheesy...especially the radio chatter, but when I knew what everything was going to do I got much better pictures than at Biggin....

You'll be waiting a while if you do that! Takes ages to sort them all out for one post then cut them all down to fit the size limit (RAW is slowwww work).

As for the role demo, I thought it was good. I'd read the 'complaints' and was a bit wary leading up to it however once it got underway I thought it was great to watch (a few nice photo opportunities too) and in your face.
