Another Important Petition

Postby RitterKreuz » Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:45 am

Im not sure but i think you might have to be from the US to sign.

This is the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilot's Association) petition to Congress to strike down he user fee funding bill.

The government has already ruined the Flight service stations across the United States by shifting them to the private sector. The other day i i had to tell the automated system "Texas" several dozen times when prompted for my state... when I actually spoke to a preflight briefer he was in washington state and it took him forever to give me a briefing because he was not familiar with my area.

Before the FSS was privatized i would always talk to a local, always to a live human being with no automation, and always had up to date information and notams.

Now the government wants to sustain the FAA through user fee's that would increase already high fuel costs, congress also wants to abandon its own responsibility of oversight of the FAA.

as a result of this bill, costs of aviation in the united states would become so high that General Aviation in the USA would be brought to its knees.

You do not have to be an AOPA Member, but i think you do have to be a pilot and a US citizen.

so, if you meet those criteria, please... sign this bad boy  ;)

Done and done. Reminds me I still have to personally fire off some nasty letters to Washington... this entire proposal is outrageous, especially considering what's become of the weather briefing and plan filing system... as usual, they want to take more and give less for it.  >:(
