good on them i say, regardless of the disruption it will cause, they need a voice.

Way to go!  Line guys going after the man!  (When I was such a person, and wanted to piss the man off, I took beer out of charter planes), but hey a strike works just as well!

Sorry. These people lose any sympathy I might have for their cause when they insist on causing major disruption to the public at peak holiday times. If it wasn't the refuellers it would be the baggage handlers or some other union. This is now happening on a regular basis & getting like it was in the 1970s.

i agree hagar but it seems the only way business seem to listen to people down the pile like these is if they cause the most disruption to their business as they can. i bet they arent that happy with this situation like you arent but they feel they have no choice.

Apart from wanting the union to be recognised it's not clear from that article what their grievance is. This smacks of politics rather than any genuine hardship. In theory this strike could bring the whole airport to a standstill over one of the busiest weekends of the year. This would affect everyone connected with the airport & possibly lead to job losses. Is this what they really want? I very much doubt it.

Not knowing all the facts I can't pass judgement on the strikers.... but I do know that union bosses can be just as greedy and manipulative as any corporate bosses.
As usual, it's the workers, shareholders and customers who will get the dirty end of the stick, no matter how this pans out- not the union honchos or the corporate execs.   >:(
