Finally....

...the new tower at Heathrow becomes operational as of 0200GMT this Saturday. The control staff are expectind delays at switchover time. Apparently they will be allowing planes to land slightly earlier to clear any backlog and the 1100GMt night curfew will be extended slightly for a few days to allow the backlog to clear as well. Looks like a fantastic new tower to operate from.
